RED ALERT - MEET DENNIS

Once upon a time there was a little dragon called Dennis. He
was ever such a nice dragon - always friendly and polite - but
he had a problem. Dennis’s problem was one that he could
never face up to. It made him very sad and shy.

It had all started when he was a baby. He could remember being
just a few weeks old when his Uncle Fry came to see him. Uncle Fry
was a fearsome dragon. He was big and strong and, when he got
excited or angry, he would breathe fire. Now, as you know, most
dragons breathe fire, but Uncle Fry was not like other dragons. He
could not control his burning breath. Once the flames started, they
kept on coming. Uncle Fry was what is known as a fire hazard.

Despite all of his best intentions, Uncle Fry got rather excited on that
fateful day when he first came to visit baby Dennis. He squealed
with joy to see his beautiful new nephew and, as he did, the flames
poured from his nostrils.

As quick as a flash, they all ran
out of the cave and as far away
as possible. Meanwhile Dad
phoned the Fire and Rescue
Service who soon arrived, but
despite the best efforts of the
firefighters, Dennis’s beautiful
home was ruined.

Luckily nobody was hurt in the
fire, but the horror of that day
has always stayed with Dennis.

Since then, Dennis has been aware of the dangers of fire!
